NEW DELHI Cristiano Ronaldo Portugal Camisola , Nov. 21 (Xinhua) -- The cyclonic storm "Helen" which is active in Bay of Bengal off the east coast of India is expected to hit south coastal Andhra Pradesh state of the country Friday, said officials Thursday.
Authorities are evacuating tens of thousands of people from low- lying areas to safe places, said the officials.
The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) said the cyclonic storm will cross the coast between Nellore and Machillipatnam, close to Ongole in the southern Indian state Friday afternoon.
The IMD Thursday issued cyclone warning saying the southern parts of Andhra Pradesh and northern part of Tamil Nadu states will be hit.
The IMD said that Helen is now over west-central Bay of Bengal and has intensified into a severe cyclonic storm at 460 km east- northeast of Chennai, the state capital of Tamil Nadu.
Heavy rainfall will come to coastal Andhra Pradesh from Thursday forenoon, with 25 cm or more rainfalls being expected in some spots at south coastal Andhra Pradesh on Thursday and Friday Jose Fonte Portugal Camisola , said the department.
Winds with speed from 55-65 kmph to 75 kmph would rampage through south Andhra coast and wind speed could increase to 100- 110 kmph or even 120 kmph at the time of landfall, it said.
The storm surge will be about 1-1.5 meters high and would inundate the low lying areas of Andhra Pradesh. Fishermen have also been banned from sailing out of the coast as sea condition will be rough to very rough along and off coast.
The IMD also expects serious damages to thatched roofs and huts, as well as minor damage to power and communication lines and trees.

The local herd of reindeer would come up to the cabin and feed from your hand. Yes Alpine Skiing is really amazing!
My other experience of skiing was in Austria. The weather and snow conditions were almost perfect there. Nothing can beat Alpine Skiing when the sun shines and the snow glitters in the sunlight. I love Apr?s Ski too and I remember drinking a lot of good wine. I stayed in a picture postcard village in a typical Alpine lodge. One day I had to put my Alpine Skiing on hold because the night before, me and my friends had rather too much schnapps at the local bar.
I would like to go skiing again and try to improve. They just open a very big dry slope near my house, which would be a good way to get back into it again. I may even try out snowboarding lessons; I don't see why the young should have all the fun. When I was in Austria, we had a trip to Innsbruck and we visited the old Winter Olympics site there. I stood at the top of what was the ski jump hill, and the incline is amazing. You can't get any idea of what ski jumping is like from television. I am sure it must feel like flying sometimes. The only time that I ever flew was by pure accident!
